## Standing by category

| Category | Share | Rank | Negative rate | Labels |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Virtual data rooms | 0% | 48 | 100% | 6 |
| Board and investor reporting | 0% | 98 | 100% | 3 |
| Board portals | 0% | 49 | 100% | 3 |

## And against it

- "The absolute most dangerous "board portal" is a makeshift system patched together from generic consumer-grade tools (e.g., Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft SharePoint, Slack, and personal emails)." (Gemini 3.5 Flash, Board portals)
- "especially careful with portals that are basically just email, Dropbox/Box/Google Drive, or PDF links for board materials, because those setups are specifically called out as weaker substitutes" (Perplexity Sonar, Board portals)
- "Generic Cloud (e.g., Box, Dropbox misconfigs): Frequent public exposure via bad shared links; not true VDRs—avoid entirely for high-stakes." (Grok 4.1 Fast, Virtual data rooms)
- "like Teams, SharePoint, or Dropbox: useful for sharing files, but not built for board governance, role-based access, or audit trails" (Perplexity Sonar, Board)
